The application allows users to read words and sentences written in the Szekler-Hungarian runic script. For those curious about the meanings behind runic signs, this application serves as an essential tool.

The ancient Hungarian Runic script is a longstanding runiform writing system used for transcribing the Hungarian language. Presently, there is a resurgence in the use of this script, particularly in its Szekler-Hungarian variant. The 15-20,000-year-old symbol system remains highly functional, providing the only complete method to phonetically represent the Hungarian language sounds. During the 10th century transition to the Latin alphabet, 15 distinct Hungarian sounds (TY, GY, Á, É, etc.) lacked corresponding symbols. This deficiency was rectified by duplicating characters and incorporating diacritics above specific letters.

Each runic symbol represents a sound according to alphabetic principles: assigning one letter to each sound. Therefore, simply type the characters from the runic script right-to-left using your keyboard (although there is also text written left-to-right, in that case, the glyphs are mirrored versions of the keys on your keyboard). After each keystroke, the corresponding modern-day Hungarian letter is displayed on the screen.
